What Success Looks Like

We measure the Academy by whether students leave genuinely able to contribute to a research team — not by enrollment numbers. NSM Academy is a new organization; this page describes what we'll track and share as our first cohorts move through the program.

Where Alumni Go Next

What we'll track as our cohorts move forward and build a track record.

Continued research — students who stay on with their summer mentor's lab into the following school year

Publications and posters  — projects that go on to conference presentations or co-authored publications

Academic pathways  — high school alumni pursuing computational biology or pre-med tracks in college; undergraduate alumni pursuing MD/PhD or graduate research

Clinical research careers  — medical student and clinician alumni who go on to lead their own network medicine research programs
